How to Clean a Wax Burner
Soy wax melts are a beautiful way to enjoy fragrance in your home without the pressure of waiting for your soy wax candle to melt all the way to the edge which can take a few hours! My handmade soy wax melts are also an excellent way to try out multiple scents from the Smith Co collection and you may be wondering what to do with the old wax in your wax burner. There are a few methods out there but this is mine!
Here are my top tips to clean a wax melt burner.
Before you begin, have a damp cloth ready. I recommend cleaning your wax melt burner away from children and pets as you would when lighting your burner at any other time.
Step 1: Light a tealight and place it in the bottom of your wax burner.
Step 2: After a few minutes, check if the old wax has begun to melt. I keep pressing lightly on the sides until I feel the disc of wax start to move in the dish.
Step 3: You’ll soon notice that most of the old wax will still be hard but the bottom will have melted and you can remove the entire disc of wax from the dish. Have your damp cloth ready to collect any wax drips. Blow out the tealight candle.
Step 4: Wipe the excess wax clean with a damp cloth. It will still be warm, making it easier to remove.
Step 5: Pop a new melt in the your burner, light a tealight and enjoy!
